We chartered Tuna Hunter to spread the ashes of a loved one who spent a lifetime fishing, and it could not have been a more fitting tribute. Captain Gary and deckhand Fran were respectful, compassionate, and helped make a difficult day into a beautiful memory for our family.
Afterward, we enjoyed an outstanding day of fishing and landed three slot-sized stripers. It felt like someone was looking down on us and sending a little luck our way.
If you’re looking for striped bass or giant bluefin tuna, I can’t imagine a better charter on the North Shore. Captain Gary knows these waters inside and out, and Fran worked tirelessly all day to keep us fishing and having fun. The boat itself is large, spacious, extremely comfortable, and impeccably maintained. You can tell tremendous pride goes into keeping it in top condition.
Together they run a first-class operation. Tuna Hunter has earned its reputation as one of the very best striper and tuna charters in Gloucester.

Striped bass are hitting live bait in our area right now. A full day striped bass fishing along the rocks and islands of Cape Ann makes for a fine day on the waters of Cape Ann. A great outing for friends and/or family.
