To all our Customers, and all Fishers Everywhere:
We at Tuna Hunter wish everyone the best for safety, health and sanity through this period of uncertainty and fear about the COVID-19 virus and the changes it is imposing on our work and home lives. We are hoping we all come through this period safe and healthy, and that come summer we are all healthy and able to go out and play again!
We are committed to being on the water fishing once the weather warms, on our usual schedule:
- May 1st – Haddock Fishing Charters – offshore 9 hr and marathon 12 hr trips
- Late May as stripers migrate in – Striped Bass Charters, 4 hr, 5 hr (most popular) and full day 8 hr trips
- June 1st – Bluefin Tuna Charters – offshore 9 hr and 12 hr marathon charters
Fishing is an outdoor, fresh air activity, and private charter boats mean you are the only persons aboard, no mixing with friends you just met. We carry only your party, a maximum of six charter passengers per trip. We always carry hand sanitizer and cleaner aboard, and we maintain Tuna Hunter in immaculate shape – the deck and all fishing areas are soaped and bleached after each trip as a matter of routine.
We realize that travel plans, even local travel plans, are on hold at this time because we really do not know how long restrictions will be in place. Rest assured we are here taking reservations for this summer, and are following federal, state and local government recommendations and mandates on what is possible when.
We will be closely watching COVID-19 recommendations and mandates as our summer season approaches. We are all hoping that the travel-related closures and restrictions we are all under now will be lifted by this summer, and hope to see all of you around Cape Ann out on the water. For now, we are planning and preparing for a full fishing season, as usual.
We will be ready, and we will be fishing as long as they let us leave the dock. We look forward to having you join us! Please contact us if you have any questions about fishing in general, this upcoming season, or cleanliness and safety aboard Tuna Hunter.
We look forward to fishing with you – safe and healthy times to all,
Gary, Karen, Ben, Kali, Tali

The cost of an offshore shared charter when 4 persons go is $350 per person, plus a 15-20% tip for the mate – that $420. Or, you can split with 1 or 2 others – as long as all parties, 2,3 or 4, agree to pay an amount that totals the cost of a full charter. Many options here, but people need to agree and commit. We need at least 2 others to make this prime-time tuna charter a go.
Enjoy prime season bluefin tuna fishing in Gloucester, MA – Stellwagen Bank, Jeffries, Ipswich Bay or beyond – we go where the fish are.
To confirm your shared charter request, – either call us 978-546-7992 or use our Reservations form.
Shared charters are a go when we get 4 confirmed persons. Until then, a full private charter will override a maybe shared charter. So if you are thinking about it and have not confirmed yet, do so now to secure your fishing date with a giant bluefin!
