These Albany NY EMTs boated this ~240lb bluefin tuna on  Tuna Hunter Fishing Charters.  And we thank them for their service!

Lucky them, this fish was just the right size that they got to take this one home.  Sushi for all!

Tasty Mako – a great charter take-home shark. This lucky charter has a fine day battling several blue sharks and this fine Mako.   Not everyone knows – Mako’s can be quite acrobatic;  They often jump and flip much like a sailfish.  And, they a great eating.

Tuna Hunter has been busy these last two months – the commercial bluefin closure did not affect our charters, other than we tagged and release all bluefin tuna over 73 inches.

Sharks Are In!

Let’s face it – Sharks and shark charters are in – in our waters, and fun to catch, even while waiting for a giant bluefin.

Makos, porbeagles, threshers and blue sharks are in our area and biting, making for some fun toothy action.  Like seeing this mouthful right next to the boat.

Shark Fever!

Meanwhile we are also tagging and releasing giant bluefin – 500lbs yesterday, 800lbs last week.  We use tags from the Large Pelagic Research Center, our best source of bluefin tuna research.  Learn more about their tagging program here.
