The cod and haddock seem to know the limits this year, as we continue to get many fish just on the line. As the season progresses more of the big guys are showing up, as we expected. Persistence pays off.
There are plenty of mackerel around and we anticipate solid catches for cod, haddock, tuna and striped bass fishing charters for the duration of this season.

Martha’s Lucky Charmers proved lucky indeed, as they landed this amazing 117 inch giant bluefin aboard Tuna Hunter Fishing Charters last weekend.

Kudos to all anglers – Martha, Patty, Al and Charlie, who expertly handled this long bluefin tuna throughout the 4 hour battle. Al and Charlie had particularly long circling session with our girl, as she was having nothing to do with either of them, nor with mate “Lars-ceny” standing ready with the harpoon. So close … yet so far, she’d come close and eyeball us, then flick her tail and be off. (That’s the 2nd harpoon in the foreground – the first was ready in hand.)

This Russian family had a great day of cod and haddock fishing aboard the Tuna Hunter. The kids more than did their share hauling in good-sized cod. Action was steady, with larger fish arriving in the afternoon. This same gang is tuna fishing today!
